Sabhan did not turn hostile or even come to the aid of Trygil if I attack Trygil while Sabhan is in (almost?) the fog of war. 

 

Even after Sabhan returned from the fog of war... didn't seem to care Trygil was getting attacked. 

 

However, spells that attack the target and bounce to other enemies did turn Sabhan hostile when targeted at Trygil even though Sabhan was still friendly at the time.
