All in all I really don't have much of an issue with this as things currently stand.

Gotta say I mostly concur.  The system needs tweaks but complaining that a games combat system is gamey seems sort of silly.  It is a game, of course it is gamey.  Much of the complaints are centered around very minor complaints too.  Not getting a passive aura bonus on the first attack?  Seriously?  So you don't get it on one attack.  That's not going to make or break your battle by any stretch of the imagination.  It is a little silly, but this like many POE issues is being blown out of proportion.  Though I do agree some auras have become buggy since being forced into combat only applications and maybe we should change those back at least until they can find a way of making this combat only without also creating various bugs and glitches.
