PoE doesn't start from Steam 'Play" button on Mac

wjbaird

Question

[Description of the issue]

When I select 'Play' in the steam game library on MacOS nothing happens.   If I go and run the Application directly instead, it seems to work fine (starts up, can create character at least)

[DETAILED list of steps to reproduce the issue AND what to look for]

Example:

1) Start Steam

2) go to PoE in the games library

3) click 'Play'

[Expected behaviour]

Game starts

[Other remarks / Comments]

I'd really rather be testing the Linux version.  :-)   But until it shows up I decided to try it on my fairly old (2009) 27" iMac - running OS 10.9.4   Not a blocker once you figure it out --- but would be good to fix before release!  Got it set up too late to do more than create a quick char and make sure I got into the game.   More testing tomorrow!

Actually you might have to enable Steam.app in the Accessibility preferences (Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy tab > Accessibility)

EDIT: actually you're right.

FYI osx users, the game is located in :

/Users/yourname/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Pillars of Eternity - Public Beta.app
