BB278 Ogre goes hostile while fighting spiders

I did the Ogre quest and convinced the Ogre to leave.

 

Then when I was fighting the three spiders to the north (the queen et al) the Ogre went hostile and attacked.

This happened a second time fighting the first two spiders in the cave.

 

Apparently an AoE spell is spilling over and hitting the ogre.

 

If this is not a known issue I can dig deeper and figure out which spell(s).
