I'm stuck. I had problems earlier in the game with switching over to the Dragon Shout to get past rats, and now I can't switch over to the Sneaky Squeaker to get past the guards at the new Taco Bell. My Mana is full. I select the magic type under the Magic tab but nothing in-game changes.

 

Is it broke or am I missing something?

Okay, I accidentally figured out that you can switch between magic when holding "G" and hitting the "E" key.

You can actually switch between magics just pressing E, without holding G. 

 

It is the same with the actions menu (Shoot, Buddy Action, etc), Q to choose, F to execute.
