Elder Scrolls style make your own spells and magical artifacts

make your own spells I feel is going to be a balancing hell for them. And it is more fun to find magical artifacts then make them. What would be cool if you can change the graphics of your spells maybe just the color alone. I remember I played some games with this it was neat.
