generic.hybridity Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Hmm. Whilst it doesn't matter as much from top down I have gotta echo the sentiment that something similar to TOEE character generation could be quite good. Height and width will probably be the most distinguishable element from the camera angle we'll be playing at.
metiman Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 In BG2 I had to be very careful selecting clothing and hair colors so that I could tell who was who just by looking at them. I don't think Obsidian should spend too much time on character customization since there are far more important things, but it should at least be possible to tell the characters apart from their appearance. The best customization I've seen was in Dragon Age. At least Bioware-2 got one thing right. But that sort of thing is serious overkill for this project. JoshSawyer: Listening to feedback from the fans has helped us realize that people can be pretty polarized on what they want, even among a group of people ostensibly united by a love of the same games. For us, that means prioritizing options is important. If people don’t like a certain aspect of how skill checks are presented or how combat works, we should give them the ability to turn that off, resources permitting. . .
