September 16, 201213 yr I think this would be a great way to get more milage out of smaller class lists. Even if we only end up with 3 base classes and 3 prestige classes (sort of like KoTOR), being able to multiclass and compose different class/prestige class combos will provide plenty of options and added depth without having to have a whole smorgasbord of class choices.
September 16, 201213 yr I think Sawyer was not big on 'em in 3E DnD (they throw off balance and are hard to DM for a lot of the time) but he's building his own system from scratch so maybe he can pull it off right. Maybe he'll tell us! Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
September 16, 201213 yr The game will not be a DnD so i don't think that there will be multi-classing or prestige classes in that sense.
September 16, 201213 yr Sawyer has strong views on this and he's a mechanics mentat. I'm going to let him get on with it.
September 16, 201213 yr Multiclassing is not related to D&D. Many class-based systems feature multiclassing. Prestige classes, OTOH, are a D&Dism that should die a gruesome death and never be seen again. There are no doors in Jefferson that are "special game locked" doors. There are no characters in that game that you can kill that will result in the game ending prematurely.
