wolfe1177 Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 (edited) Hey guys so I've gone what feels like hundreds of times over the internet to no avail to try to find an answer to this problem and I can't seem to find one. This forum seems like my best bet of hopefully finding a solution. So here's my problem: I am running TSL using the Restored Content Mod 1.8.1. I'm using Parallels Desktop on a MacBook Pro with Windows XP. Before my current issue, I would get the occasional force close on the game, but it was very few and far between. Now here's my problem: I was playing on Dantooine (the first planet I chose after leaving Telos) and doing the mercenary war mission. I had just defeated the mercenaries, learned the new lightsaber form from Vrook, gotten another lightsaber, etc. I went to walk outside of the building (the name is escaping me now), the game was loading up the plains, and it force closed. I restarted the game and loaded up my autosave, which began immediately loading up the plains again, and again it force closed. So, thinking that maybe the save file got corrupted or something, I played through the whole mercenary battle again and saved immediately after learning the lightsaber form from Vrook. So my save file is my character staring at the door to the plains. Here's what sucks: Every time that I try to go outside it force closes. Unfortunately I'm not a man of many saves, so I only have my one save file to fall back on. So basically, I have one save file where I'm now stuck inside of the government building on Dantooine and unable to exit. I've tried everything that I could think of. I uninstalled TSLRCM 1.8.1 and reinstalled it to no avail. I uninstalled the mod and TSL, reinstalled and tried exiting the building to no avail. That's about as far as I've gotten (and about as far as the internet has guided me). I haven't been able to find another instance of this situation online, but I'm hoping maybe somebody here could give me some insight (even if it involves a cheat that can port me somewhere else, I don't really care if I have the "cheat used" thing on my save file). Any advice offered would be really awesome and greatly appreciated since I REALLY don't feel like playing the 13ish hours that I've gotten into the game over again. I can post my error report if you guys need it. Thanks a bunch. EDIT: I guess I should also mention that this is the Steam version of KOTOR2, not sure if that makes a difference or not. Hassat Hunter Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Can you upload a save? See if it's in the save or in your file. Alternatively, you can just use cheats to skip the plains. It's not required to visit anymore (well, meaning you can cheat skip it)... ^ I agree that that is such a stupid idiotic pathetic garbage hateful retarded scumbag evil satanic nazi like term ever created. wolfe1177 Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 What cheat lets you skip areas? I've only been able to find cheats for items and stuff like that.
wolfe1177 Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 Also, my save file seems to be too big to upload at 2.7 MB.
Gorth Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 I had a similar experience to yours on Onderon. Every time I went to talk to whatshisname the pazaak player in the cantina to solve the murder mystery, it would CTD when finishing the conversation with the guard captain. I persevered and rebooted my pc, tried a few more times. In the 5th attempt (and a couple of different dialogue paths), it got past the dead spot. It then repeated the process every time I walked out of the cantina, CTD more often than not, but after leaving Onderon for the first time, it got "stable" again. Strange thing (didn't have any issues on Dantooine btw.). “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Hassat Hunter Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Yeah, it can do that on Onderon. No one knows why. Dantooine, not so much... The warp cheat is "warp [area location]"... so (without quotes) "warp 003ebo" gets you back on the hawk, and "warp 604dan" will help you get to the academy later on in the game... ^ I agree that that is such a stupid idiotic pathetic garbage hateful retarded scumbag evil satanic nazi like term ever created.
