October 26, 200916 yr http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33470581/?GT1=43001 Hikers are tackling more dangerous trails they otherwise wouldn't thanks to locator beacons becoming easier for the general populace to afford. I think these people should be fined for the use of these beacons if the call is not an emergency.
October 26, 200916 yr Sounds like they need to take some cooperative measures with law enforcement by putting various warnings and what not on these devices as well as charging a whole hell of a lot for calling for help. Kind of like the ambulance except you still get charged even if you don't do transport. In fact, if its a false alarm they should charge you more. There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.
October 26, 200916 yr FRESNO, Calif. - Last month two men and their teenage sons tackled one of the world's most unforgiving summertime hikes: the Grand Canyon's parched and searing Royal Arch Loop. October 26, 200916 yr Surely this is covered by the standard offence of hoax calling emergency services? It does annoy me that as a society we accept that one is allowed to cause expense and endanger oneself by indulging a middle class vice like hiking or mountain climbing, but can't indulge equivalent cheaper vices like alcohol, fried food, or punching the pope.
