Yep, I was quite disappointed that many upcoming RPG lists from various game sites mainly featured JRPGs. Which is fine, except that I can't get into JRPGs anymore. I know I'm potentially missing out on some good gameplay, but the whole art-direction, character design just prevents me from taking whatever good story and gameplay there is seriously. :)

Still, I keep trying. I thought I would love FF12 since there are no random battles, but I lost interest somewhere along the line. I can't really pinpoint why. I though Zahn was a more likable protagonist compared to the main protagonists of other recent FF games, the battles went smoothly, and the supporting cast was interesting. I guess everything seemed too nonsensical to me all of the sudden. I mean Zahn can call down meteors for his limit attack and other characters could cause tidal waves and whatnot....and so why are they afraid of anything out there? I know its always been like that, but still.

Of course calling a fantasy game nonsensical is silly, but still, the character's abilities should make sense in the context of the game world right?

I really ought to try a JRPG some time. Maybe Lost Odyssey.

"Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

Lost Odyssey is otherwise okay, but the random battles get really tedious and it's sloowww. Unfortunately there's really not a lot of competition on the 360. You might want to try Tales of Vesperia though, for something a bit more unique and fresh.

It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai.

So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds
