Ishbane Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Never had any problems playing KotOR 2 using XP or Vista, but since i bought and installed a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme Gamer the game skips every second or so, resulting in a BSoD after a few minutes. This came as quite a shock to me, as I haven't experienced one of those since I set up Vista for the first time (about half a year ago). My sytem's otherwise stable. X-Fi and Alchemy have been auto-updated, nvidia display driver is v178.13. Dark_Raven Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Does it effect any other games that you have? I heard that Vista doesn't play well with Creative's X-FI drivers Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Gorth Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 I am running a X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion on my system (64bit Vista) with no problems. Kotor2 runs fine. Disclaimer: I haven't updated my drivers the last couple of weeks. I'll check the driver version when I get home from work later today. “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Ishbane Posted October 11, 2008 Author Posted October 11, 2008 @Dark Raven: Nope, everything from new games (Crysis, CoD4, The Witcher) to old ones (VtM: Bloodlines, Oblivion, Doom 3) works perfectly fine. Except BioShock, but it's been f'ed XP, too. @Gorth: No new update for me, neither on their support page, nor through auto-updating. Guess your's is higher because of you using a X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty while I have to make do with an 'ordinary' X-Fi XtremeGamer. There are beta drivers available though, released on 9/26/2008, but as they are beta - and since my X-Fi has been the only source for a BSoD as of yet - I tend to refrain from using them.
