nivo
I just purchased and installed KOTOR2 this weekend. I installed it with no problem, went to start the game up, can read everything fine, till it gets to the first options screen. Where you choose new game, load game etc. I can't read any of those words, not sure how to describe them, other than to say I am unable to read them (very blocky looking). When I select a new game or options and I hover over the different buttons, I can read the descriptions fine in the green boxes. I have an NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT as my card, 2 gigs of ram and my Processor: Intel Edited August 9, 2008 by nivo

nivo
THanks for the suggestion. I closed all programs that I had running in the background including my antivirus and still got the same result.
LadyCrimson
Can you actually play the game? Is the character speech-text also garbled, or is just those main menus? Tried different drivers etc? Sounds strange... Edited August 10, 2008 by LadyCrimson “Things are as they are. fizz
Sounds kind of like a resolution error? or even it wasnt installed right... Since you havent played it yet I recommend reinstalling. I am encountering the EXACT same problem. I have tried uninstalling - reinstalling. I have tried messing with every resolution setting I can think of in the .ini files. The initial load screen is fine, but once I click on "game" and it does the all the CGI bumps for lucasarts, obsidian, then for kotor2, it goes to the main page which I cannot read a damn thing! I can click on stuff all i want (for example, I know the top button is "new game" and the bottom button is "exit") I just cant read the text! The only thing that I have changed on my PC is I went from a 19" LCD, to a 25.5" widescreen LCD. Is there some sort of widescreen mode that needs to be enabled? I am uploading a JPEG or two so you can see what I am talking about. Please help! I got bored waiting for WOW's expansion and I want to play KOTOR2 again!!!! fizz
Got a response back from LucasArts stating that the most recent NVidia drivers (Dated July 05, 2008) fix this issue. I downloaded the drivers, and BAM! I can read it! The force is strong with this one!
