May 22, 200817 yr Hello! I'd just like to know if the Hard Drives on the PS3 and the X360 can be defragmented and if not, is it a problem? Thank you. http://entertainmentandbeyond.blogspot.com/
May 22, 200817 yr Fragmentation is only necessary when there is lots of file movement, creation and/or deletion going on. I imagine for consoles the relatively small hard drive size coupled with the fairly static nature of installed operating systems and programs means defragmentation is rather unnecessary.
May 22, 200817 yr PS3's OS/FS defragments as things get put onto the hard drive. This is only for internal. External HDDs do not get such benefit. Edited May 22, 200817 yr by Tale "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
