It was OK. It's got nothing on Half-Life, Deus Ex or System Shock 2, though. It's one of those "I played it once and really enjoyed it" games, like Red Faction 1.

Deus Ex was incredibly innovative, same with System Shock 2, AvP/AvP2 were a lot more innovative than Half Life though.

 

Multiplayer was way better. Half Life got mods though.

I want an AvP3 something fierce. AvP2 is still one of the best shooters ever even after all these years.

AvP2 is like FEAR, it's an FPS that's fairly run of the mill but everybody freaks out about for whatever reason. It's not nearly as good as the first game. The tension is removed from the marine section of the game (mainly due to non-randomized spawning) and the alien part, lacking confined areas in comparison to its predecessor, was boring where it should have been the best part. And seriously, who came up with the idea of the Predator having to find his equipment in the field? Idiocy.

This is all true. Multiplayer was godly though.
