Pidesco
Is there a way to set large images not to be sized down after they load? If not, is it possible to include that option? Fionavar
At the moment it is either/or ... so we have defaulted to the shrinking now for general use. Pidesco
How about making the shrinking dependant on browser window size? Would that be possible? Fionavar
I can look into it ... the default is resize if the image is larger than 50% of the browser viewing area ... what would you suggest would be reasonable? Do remember that they average resolution remains 800x600. Pidesco
I was thinking that what would work nicely would be to resize the images that are larger than the browser window to fit its size more or less exactly. So, for example, someone with an 800x600 desktop would have the images with around a 600 pixel width minus the forum sidebar. In my case, I have my desktop at 1280x960 so the images would show at 960 minus the forum sidebar. Fionavar
Right - so do you have a % that you think would accommodate all users more usefully (with the 800x600 proviso in mind)? Pidesco
Not really. A fixed percentage leaves no one happy. Of course, if there's no other option, we just have to make do. Anyway, the problem for me isn't the percentage of the screen at which the image is reduced, but rather that the images are reduced way too much. Like in the following example, both images are reduced much more than what I needed to fit my screen. In fact, the lower one, at 760x600 didn't even need to be reduced. Edit: I reduced my resolution to 800x600, and now I understood that the board always reduces the images to whatever size fits an 800x600 screen. If that's the only way it can work, then I guess what I'm asking isn't feasible at all. Dark_Raven
800*600 in North America, 1024*768 in Europe from my net experiences. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Fionavar
I have changed it to 60% - is this any better? An okay compromise? The universe is change; your life is what our thoughts make it - Marcus Aurelius (161)
Pidesco
It looks exactly the same. All the images are still reduced to a 800x600 complaint size.
