butterfly
This morning avg recognizes a "virus", wininet.dll. After i let avg solve the problem my system becomes unstable: explorer.exe stops working. Luckily i can still start firefox with the taskmanager so i go to www.dll-files.com and replace the file. On restart explorer.exe keeps restarting every 3 seconds, damn. So I dig up my windows cd to replace the file with the one on the disk, now windows refuses to replace the file claiming it's in use. Anyone has any suggestions how i could solve this problem? qwb,
Gfted1
Can you delete the file you manually replaced and then use the disk? "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"

metadigital
Yeah, the file is busy, correct? You need to get into a command line ... alternatively a good Antivirus / Anti-spyware application should be able to complete the task, too. Diamond
No i can not replace or delete wininet.dll, that's the problem. qwb, Boot in safe mode. Or try using Process Explorer to kill the processes that hold the file.
