Jorian Drake Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 (edited) While Blue Byte made some mistakes, it is still a good developer team in my eyes with games like Settlers 2, Settlers Heritage of Kings, Albion, BattleIsle, Archimedean Dynasty, and I also await the reworked Settlers 2 However, its main 'flagship', the Settlers franchise came under a lot of change since Settlers 1-2, and i have to say I didn't like too much the cartoony 3D episodes 3 and 4, i did enjoy the overhauled Heritage of Kings, even if it had not much in common with the mentioned 2 episodes...however: i have the feeling it managed to take the original spirit of Settlers back to the right trail after a long time, maybe even resurrecting it. Now while I download the beta game, i have to think about the trailer foor this game: Settlers 6, or 'Rise of an Empire' For me this looks promishing, it seems they use the pavement created with 'Heritage', but I am also inteested in what YOU people thing of it till now? PS: it is an open beta, so go and try it out yourself too Edited August 11, 2007 by Jorian Drake
Morgoth Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 The only game a ever cared from BB was Incubation. That was fun (and hard). Settlers? Meh. Rain makes everything better.
Musopticon? Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Settlers 2 and Lost Vikings 2 were the first two games I ever owned. Naturally I'm interested in one of my favorites series. Although I've only played 2, 3(horrible) and 5. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai. So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds
Gorth Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 The only Settlers I've enjoyed so far was the board game. Surprisingly funny for a game of "conquest" with no military involved (said the old tabletop wargamer) “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
