They'd probably build tunnels under the ground in sand. Or at least set up ambushes by burying themselves individually.

The only way that they could do that (seeing as how they have to adhere to canon) would be if they set the game before Aliens, as I'm fairly (not 100%, but getting there) certain that the thermonuclear explosion that destroyed Hadley's Hope covered the area of the derelict spacecraft.
