What happened to the Nameless One ?

I had the sense not to read a thread called 'What happened to the Nameless One ?' when I was playing through the game, I can't imagine anyone else would

 

I'll keep that in mind in future anyway

Yeah, I figured that a thread centered on positing what happened to the main character of a game was pretty self-evidently going to be full of spoilers. Sorry about that.
