Skills. Like Demolitions, Security and Computer Use. Repairing droids, broken wires, computers that are faulty somehow. Tending to the wounded, in those places where medical treatment is barely available, like on Nar Shaddaa. Not just for upgrading weapons and armour.

The sad, sad thing about the skills is- the difficulty goes up for things like security as you level. I used the Hissis spawnpoint to get to level 50 in one game (it wasn't that hard, just spawn 50 or so, then force storm until the computer threatens to crash. Then repeat). As I leveled, I decided to make super-characters by stopping all my skills and my party members skills at 35, so I could get all skills leveled, but still have enough in each area to beat any difficulty.

 

Then I leave Korriban, head to Dantooine, and find myself unable to open any locked boxes w/out my lightsaber. They'd all level adjusted to a 45 difficulty or something. Saaaddd....

Although it isn't much, equipping a Tech specialist belt/Czerka utility belt, perhaps even with a pair of Infiltrator gloves might boost your skills up a bit. Think there is also head gear or bands that can be worn for adding points to skills even further with some implants like a skills package to increase some skills. However, this is assuming that your character has been adding points to some skills with every level-up. Could also use security tunnelers for a slightly lower skill requirement to open doors. Some doors and maybe crates will require almost more than your usual max security though.
