I cannot use the Ebon Hawk to travel to any other planets. What happens is, I go to the Galaxy Map, say from Dxun, select any other planet, and click "travel" . The game then quickly goes to a black screen, followed by the game menu (eg; new Game, Load game, etc.) I am unable to select any of the options, I believe the game froze. I alt+tab out, and close it via Task Manager. It will not work going to any other planet, and my escape route of using the warp commands no longer works.

whats your specs, do you get any microsoft error messages?

Might be graphics card. Try disabling movies from configuration options. Might be easier if game settings are at minimum.

Thanks for the replies, I have disabled movies already, I even uninstalled and reinstalled, however I found that I can go to Nar Shaddaa, so i'll probably try playing from there and see what happens, other then that I don't understand this at all.

only thing I've always wondered about was why under "Video card status" I get a warning, so far the games played fine, kinda buggy but fine all round, up till this point of frustration.

Actually, if you have Kotor 2 box with you, supported graphics card might put something like following:

 

Radeon X300, X600, X700, X800.

 

Believe that yours is X1800. Helps to have a graphics card that is supported with game. Otherwise, your other system settings generally exceed minimum requirements of K2 by quite a bit. Just my suggestion, but could be due to that which is why game might not be able to run during some parts, especially where running CG movies are involved. Might be why warning message appears.

 

Has this happened before, or is this first time?

Yeah, I realize it wasn't one of the supported cards, but the game ran so *shrug*, I kinda figured that was why I got the warning but wasn't sure.

 

This is the first time I've had such problems in game such as not being able to travel, as for getting the warning on hardware scan, no its been like that since I installed

Not quite familiar with the Radeon nummering...

 

How old is a X1800?

 

And your Athlon 3500+; is that a dual-core? If so shutting down one of the cores might fix alot of issues encountered...

Believe that its probably a bit current than what game might recognise. However, might want to continue trying out your game. If it still works, then could leave it. Otherwise, could be graphics card issue. Could also follow H.H's suggestion.

Dual Core processors usually do affect some game issues but mine runs perfectly.

It seems that these K2 bugs are getting more than we expected and always stranger every day...

Kotor is really bad in detecting Radeon cards properly. Apparently that got fixed in Kotor1 with the 1.2 patch; but Kotor2 never fixed it.

The card warning means nothing... just that the card is not known. My GeForce 6600GT generates the same warning with Kotor1 due to it's "new-ness"

Despite it might look running flawless; did you try shutting off one core during playing; to see if it resolved anything?

I did but it worked the same... actually worse cos I didn't have the support of the second CPU to boost my game power.

I agree with the KotOR2 thing picking up Graphics Cards wrongly, Because it detected my 128mb Radeon 9200SE as a 256mb Card.

It picks up my X1900GT 256meg as a 512 meg

 

Only time I have problems zoning is if a mod has been incorrectly installed or there is a problem with the modded zone.

Like Hassat said: ATI cards are a bit funny... and the game doesn't detect them well. The NVidia ones are much more accurate.
