April 27, 200619 yr You're lucky if you find a S-IPS monitor for under $1000! About 6 months back, I had assembled a machine for a buddy, with a 19" LG1930B. It cost him a whopping $269. As I mentioned, they canned the product because you cannot quantify and advertise the quality of a S-IPS, but you can advertise response times.... 8ms ZOMG!1!. Today, you can buy the following S-IPS monitors: - Dell 2001FP: ~$450 - Dell 2005FP: ~$450 - HP 2335: $850
April 27, 200619 yr Ok, I exaggerated a bit, but my point is that you make it sound like the ACER screen is "OMG IS THAT A YELLOW OR PURPLE BLOB??" bad, which it isn't. Still, I would recommend a Viewsonic VA902 or something, if you're looking for good value for your dollar. It usually costs somewhere around $250. April 27, 200619 yr I would echo the above concerns about PSU. Over half of the PSUs tested recently by Custom PC, Blew Up! Best of the bunch was Seasonic. OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT
