April 3, 200619 yr I remember playing this a while ago (the shareware, anyway), and combat was loads of fun. Mounted combat done right In any case, I've heard you can raise armies and have castle sieges. That certainly sounds cool. Combat aside, how's the rest of the game? In terms of exploration, questing and so on. I haven't heard anything about story/writing, so I'll assume that's not the draw of the game. I'm trying to figure whether the rest of the game is enough to shell out some money for it. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
April 3, 200619 yr Story will be introduced in further versions. It's a sandbox type game. Think Pirates!. In fact they are very similar. You can take missions(capturing nobleman, rescueing girl, killing raiders, etc..), you can trade goods, you can sell prisoner, you can raise your rank by doing missions... But sorry, no dancing mini-game...
April 3, 200619 yr Author Is the sandbox part actually compelling, though? (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
April 3, 200619 yr "Story will be introduced in further versions." Actually no. He gave up on the idea of adding a story. You'll have to rely on the mods for that.
April 4, 200619 yr I absolutely hated the handling of combat...felt way too sluggish and just......god I hated it. I had thought that some of nature's journeymen had made men and not made them well, for they imitated humanity so abominably. - Book of Counted Sorrows 'Cause I won't know the man that kills me and I don't know these men I kill but we all wind up on the same side 'cause ain't none of us doin' god's will. - Everlast
April 4, 200619 yr Author Oh, I love the combat. Been messing around in the arena in the last while. What I'm intrigued about is the rest of the game - the 'sandbox' part. I'm wondering whether it's compelling enough in the gameplay sense, or if it might just end up portraying a sense of pointlessness. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
