Of course you don't.

Well, yeah.  It seems the players are getting tired of sci fi.

Sounds like just the sort of heresy that the God of Asteroids will punish very effectively!

Asteroids was an interesting game.

I am thinking of a somewhat traditional fantasy homebrew campaign with a slow building of sci fi elements. How well do you think a barbarian would do against a cyborg?

Well, you can invoke a Meteor Shower on their dumb heads. From the asteroid Belt. Ceres should do it. :)

I think a barbarian would die as the partially-functional remains of the cyborg attacked-from-behind-with-surprise, after the barbarian thought it was disabled when it's "head" was cleaved from its "shoulders" ... :p

It depends on what parts are mechanical. A wang implant may impress the barbarian, but I doubt it would improve the cyborg's resisance to slashing weapons.

Unless it's a big wang ...

Heh, funny, "Destined for a Titan" is an actual brand slogan for one of the more popular lines of implants.

Makes a good duelling implement, too ...

That would be funny. I don't know if you have read the d20 Cyberscape book but it has a section about fitting cybernetics in fantasy campaigns through Golemtech and Necrotics. Golemtech is basically using similar magical designs of creating a golem but enfusing living flesh with it. A prime example of that in the FR novels would be that deep gnome in the Drizzt novels. Necrotics is the merging of living and undead flesh for augmentation enhancements.

Harvey

So Golemtech is just the T100 series Terminator? Kewl.

It's pretty silly that the Terminator from the subsequent films looks like Arnie. After all, if they all looked like him, then they wouldn't be too difficult to spot ...

Only the endo skeleton are the same. Perhaps the cloned flesh tanks has only so many templates and well, the Arnie model is one of them.

-Hey! Havent I seen you before?

-Negative.

-You look so familiar... now where could we have, ah yes. You look just like that guy who just showed up over at outpost B just before someone went ape and killed everyone with an 80w pulse rifle

-Yes. I am his cousin.

-Oh, ok. I guess its safe to let you in then.
