I am thinking of a somewhat traditional fantasy homebrew campaign with a slow building of sci fi elements. How well do you think a barbarian would do against a cyborg? A wang implant may impress the barbarian, but I doubt it would improve the cyborg's resisance to slashing weapons. I don't know if you have read the d20 Cyberscape book but it has a section about fitting cybernetics in fantasy campaigns through Golemtech and Necrotics. Golemtech is basically using similar magical designs of creating a golem but enfusing living flesh with it. A prime example of that in the FR novels would be that deep gnome in the Drizzt novels.
