eldritch2k4
I recently purchased an ATI Radeon 9550 256Meg card and decided to dust off my copy of KoTOR2. The game crashes like holy hell (almost twice as often as when I was using my old Radeon 8500 AiW) now and I noticed a couple things in the SWInfo.txt file that the config utility generates: [sWKotOR] ReportDateTime=1/27/2006 1:51:36 AM SysInfoVersion=v1.00.60 GameExists=1 GameVersion=v2.00.424 GameInstallLocation=C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR2\ [OS] Name=WinXP Version=Windows XP v5.1 build 2600 Service Pack 2 Service Pack=Service Pack 2 Status=Pass [swapFiles] C:\pagefile.sys=1536 [CPU] CPUCount=1 CPUSpeed=2166 CPUFamily=6 CPUModel=10 CPUStepping=0 CPUVendor=AMD CPUName=AMD Athlon XP 3000+ Status=Pass [Memory] RAM=512 Status=Pass [Disk Free Space] C: (NTFS), UNICODE=64.80GB D: (FAT32), UNICODE=1MB Status=Pass [CD-ROMs] DriveLetters=E:\,F:\,K:\ Drives=ASUS CD-S480/AH,HP DVD Writer 300c,PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-104 [Video] Video Card Name=RADEON 9550 (Omega 3.8.205) Video Memory=512 Desktop Resolution=1024x768x32 @ 60Hz DirectX=DirectX 9.0c (4.09.00.0904) OpenGL Version=2.0.5529 WinXP Release OpenGL Vendor=ATI Technologies Inc. I'm very much using a desktop PC. And secondly, I don't have a 512 meg video card. As stated above, I only have a 256. Anyone else seen this sort of thing? Stewdawg24
I had a similar issue with the config file reading my card incorrectly as an Nvidia card when I have an ATI. I believe it may have to do with the Catalysy 5.12 drivers you have installed. Have you tried rolling them back ? I have 5.4 installed and the game runs well with them. Also when I installed 5.4 in correctly read my config. It's worth a shot if you haven't tried it. "I'm god. I guess I can try rolling back my drivers anyway. Thanks.
Stewdawg24
The reason I say to roll back to a previous driver is that people there have been problems noted with the more recent drivers especially for ATI cards. From having searched the threads it appers that 4.11 and 5.4 seem to be the best fro KOTOR 2. Hope it helps. "I'm god. Judge Hades
I am using baseline 6.1 drivers and haven't hd any problems even though I get the RAM doubling error. I also get it in KotOR 1 and NWN 1. Edited January 29, 2006 by Judge Hades
