January 12, 200620 yr It might be a cultural thing, but while series 1 and 2 were nice intros the series peaked at series 3 and 4, while 5 was pretty good too, in 6 (for memory) they had to get rid of Rimmer as he went off to work on the Britas Empire series, and it was about this time that it really hit american audiances, which resulted in series 7, which pretty much bombed in Britian.
