I know that the higher level I am, the better stuff I can get, loot-wise. But i am curious about this:

If I enter a room/cave that has loot, and I take some but don't open/take others until I level up a few times, will the loot be better? For example, i am thinking about leaving the crystal cave and coming back later... Would it be worth it?

no, once you enter an area for the first time the items become set.
