Where is here ?

It's not on any of the lists I looked at (UK)

I forget your not in the US. I mean, your American is very good. I wish I was bilingual.

New review, more positive, tho I don't get the "have to kill everone on the map" to end combat stuff. I ended combat several times in the demo with plenty of people left on the map.

I found you could leave if you were on the edge of the map and not in combat.

I get what he means though when I played SS I got totally annoyed by the final German who would lock himself in the bog or something and take an hour to find.

I have to agree with Volourn.  Bioware is pretty much dead now.  Deals like this kills development studios.

If you pick the lock on Fidel's jail cell (lockpicks are sold by the forester in the woords) all the prisoners will break out. It adds to the confusion quite a bit.

but without dead guards guns on the ground for them to grab they get slaughtered....and I do mean slaughtered

They eventually do anyway. Some of the time they will get lucky and punch out the guards and take the weapons. Other times they will get shot up before you even get inside. Kind of reminds me of getting Marica :D

There are a pair of wirecutters in the small building if you want to go in the back way. It's faster and it's easier to avoid the patrols. It takes some serious luck to kill the tower guard with an SMG even on the most accurate shot because of the range.

Don't know how it works in the full game but since the demo ends around there you cant use the papers to get Fidel and then go back and blow the place to bits (which is what I wanted to do).

Some persitant kid on the codex got the papers to work, I guess you just have to get a high roll or something. It's INT based.

and I think blasting the place is still frowned apon, I mean, I still think it hurts your "good game path" status. I hope not tho ;)

You can use the papers no problem as long as you dont kill the Americans. There must be some sort of event trigger in there.

I actually sent Ivan off to wander around the prison and Moshe got discovered by the commandant. But since he only had a knife equipped I got dialogue options. One of which was to use the papers (which were on Ivan  ). Pressing esc unlocked the scene and then you go to the woods to meet Fidel, after which the demo ends.

I think your supposed to covert or it kicks off a war. But that may happen anyway.

This is the non violence walkthrough.

When you go into town unequip all weapons. When the cop stops you knock him out. Meet Fidel , trigger scene.

Go to prison with no weapons. Talk to commandant in house. Show papers.

Meet Fidel at the cabin - end demo.

I picked up Hammer and Sickle today. It wasn't easy to find, I did a store locator search for EB games, and then called a couple stores before I found one. They didn't even have the game out on display...why stock it if you are going to hide it in the back? I hate EB games now, I just spent my last gift card there and now I'll be ordering online for good.

Anyways, the game is very solid so far. The demo gives you a good idea of what to expect, but the characters are pretty interesting and so far I've got a nice party going. It's definitely a strategy game with RPG trappings, not the other way around. I'm in love with the combat, even if it's a bit lengthy. I also killed some mechanic guy (He was hiding a machine gun from me, and I was in a tough firefight!) It led to an entirely different plot line, and I ended up with another character...a former SS guy. My Jewish buddy doesn't like that much.

Anyways, if you have any interest, pick it up! It needs the sales, and it was $39.99.

Thia game is pretty hard, but the storyline moves in a very interesting fashion. I think I'm doing quite a few things wrong. I have one soldier who can sneak around an entire map knifing any troublesome troops, but I don't think that's the moral high ground.

I just finishisd a pretty gory mission. Someone spotted my sneaky gal. She got a couple kills, but when she turned to run, she took a burst in the back and went unconscious. Fidel was nearby with his light machine gun. I thought he'd be toast, as there were quite a few people in between him and my downed soldier, but he managed to burst his way forward and pick her up. Just then, re-inforcements popped in. I had my other two guys in good position, and they took out most of a squad with grenades. They were hiding in a two story building, and quite a few enemy soldiers took position below them, but I trapped the doors and they weren't coming up. Fidel ran up and threw some dynamite in the window. This took out half the squad, but it also opened up the flooring and allowed my two guys above to rain fire down.

Only problem is I got ambushed on the next screen...we'll see if I can survive that.
