Revan lives
Interesting. I noticed you didn't post this part of the article: But several experts strongly criticized this aspect of the finding, saying it was far from clear that the new alleles conferred any cognitive advantage or had spread for that reason. Many genes have more than one role in the body, and the new alleles could have been favored for some other reason, these experts said, such as if they increased resistance to disease. metadigital
<{POST_SNAPBACK}> The criticism is irrelevant to the point being made. You are quoting scientific peers questioning what this finding means, not the validity of the finding. I also didn't quote the author's summary of his discovery, which included prima facie evidence that the discovery is linked to brain size, for the same reason: namely it is irrelevant to the point of this topic. The article was several pages long. I linked to the original article, so that everyone could read it for themselves and make their own judgements. That was one comment from the critics of the research, who stressed that this was not a sign that the races who have these particular brain alleles were in any way superior to those that didn't. What was your point in quoting that? Are you reading-comprehension-impaired, or just trying to troll? Child of Flame
I think maybe it's a creationist trying to say that the genes are just natural selection related to fighting disease, not evolution per se.
jaguars4ever
The question is, how long before I can scratch that spot in my back with the power of my mind? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I can already scratch that spot in the back of my throat with the power of my tongue. Child of Flame
I can scratch that spot in the middle of my back with my freakishly long arms endowed to me by genetics to compensate for my lowly height.
jaguars4ever
I can scratch that spot in the middle of my crotch with my freakishly long neck endowed to me by genetics to compensate for my lowly schlong. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I knew it!
