July 16, 200520 yr Or dear god, not that ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My memory of the whole picture is a little fuzzy (I saved my SAN throw), but as I remember the other person in the picture lost her head, along with some of her clothing, and possibly her internal organs. Edit: Scratch that. She does lose her internal organs. I found the picture... Hawk! Eggplant! AWAKEN!
July 16, 200520 yr My knowledge of Gas planets is rather rare, but surely there must be ground somewhere on the planet, or is it just made out of pure... gas? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you read Arthur C. Clarke's 2010: Oddyssey 2, he has a gigantic diamond at the core of Jupiter; he freely reveals his sources in the bibliography of the novel for some of the more interesting ideas (like this one), although it has been more than a decade since I read it and, alas, the chap in question is forgotten to me.
