I like the classics German WW2 Mg42. They make a lovely noise, and if you cut away some and add some you get the smartgun from ALiens DISCLAIMER: Do not take what I write seriously unless it is clearly and in no uncertain terms, declared by me to be meant in a serious and non-humoristic manner. Lucius Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 The Danish light support weapon, the LMG M62: Build on the MG42, also sometimes called Nazi Saw DENMARK! It appears that I have not yet found a sig to replace the one about me not being banned... interesting.
Lucius Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 My own personal favorite, well how about... Whats not to like? The Ak-101 is just a modern version of the classic... Still among the most easy modern assault rifle in the world to mentain, you simply can't wear it down. If only our own army would adopt Russian firearms, it would be cheaper and I would've been able to get my dinner earlier instead of the long hours I spent cleaning the variant of M16 we have, which always failed after being exposed to a little dirt. DENMARK! It appears that I have not yet found a sig to replace the one about me not being banned... interesting.

11XHooah Posted June 14, 2005 Author Posted June 14, 2005 Yeah, Ak's are pretty good weapons. I wish that the U.S. military would use 7.62 as their standard round rather than 5.56, but oh well. Anyway, here's the M240B, which is a replacement for the M60. Fires good ol' 7.62 rounds. War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. Lucius Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Yeah, the C7 (M16 variant) I had in the army replaced our old 7.62 using HK G3. 5.56 rounds just feels like you're firing a damn toygun. <_< DENMARK! I just looked up the C7, and it's actually a pretty good looking weapon. I couldn't believe that it has automatic fire on it instead of 3-round burst. However, we never got to fire full auto anyway, they said it was too inaccurate to use properly. We did get to do it on rare occations though, feels awesome. As for upgrades, it's kinda ironic, the Home Guard (a militia like your National Guard) is better equipped and has access to an M203 launcher, however the army does not. Our Special Forces called 'Jaegers' use the same gun as you posted in your initial post though, which is pretty freaking cool. DENMARK! Kaftan Barlast Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 This the standard issue 5.56mm Ak5 which is the Swedish army assault rifle. Its essentially an FN FNC modified for arctic climate use. The rubber muzzle protection is there because a many many soliders riding in APCs often cracked their teeth on the flash supressor. The Ak5 comes in many shapes and sizes with all acessories available. It uses the standard semi and full auto fire modes. Here is a very rare special police model of the compact Ak5d. Here is our M58 version of the FN MAG (the updated yankee model m240) It is POS machinegun that is not only 60 years old in the design but was never actually intended to be carried, it was strictly supposed to be a vehicle mounted gun. Nevertheless, we Swedes use them because they are cheap and durable despite their weight and clumsiness, the ever-clogging mechanism, the old-fashioned design that needs constant maintenance and its life-threatening disadvantage of often getting so hot that it continue firing full auto at maximum RPM until it runs out of ammo or jams and/or explodes. A friend of mine was a MG gunner and he told me this happened quite often.(he also told me you could try and jam it by grabbing the ammo link and twisting it but if the gun is firing at over 1000RPM you have to be quick or your hand is going to get jammed in the feed..ouch.)
