Kevin Lynch
There is some very basic info here and here at LA's site. They may not be terribly helpful, but at least you can say you checked.

HELP Thank you very much. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> it was the sound card for me. i checked "disable sounds" in the configure menu, and the game started. went to dxdiag, in the sound tabs, and set sound acceleration to full. game starts with sound now. this is a sb live card, driver date is 2001, but the update feature on creative's website says there is no updated drivers available. *shrug*
adrich81
In order to help you wee need to know some basic things about the hardware in the computer you are running. You can find this by typing dxdiag at the run command and clicking the save all button on the program that launches. Open the file that this creates and paste the results here. That'll give us something to work with.
rahaney
Hey, This seems to be a sound issue. If you search you'll see older threads that deal with this problem. I had it when using my Plantonics Headset but ever since i changed to my Realtek Sound Card on my Motherboard it starts fine. I have also checked it with my old SB live! card and it works too. Do a search as there are many possibilities to try and get the game going. Cheers,
