Jedi78 Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 I'm not sure if anyone else has tried this out. If you have 1 skill point in security you can try to open any locked container. If you fail, then just bash it. The item has never broken for me. If anyone has time a confirm would be cool...ciao
Darth Mandalorian_1 Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 I never can open anything with a security skill of 1 and when i bash it sometimes items are broken. "Nothing's perfect. This world is not perfect, but it's there for us trying the best it can. That's what makes it so beautiful."
Brave Sir Robin Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 I gave my character a security skill of 1, and then bashed the first container I couldn't unlock. It didn't work and I got a broken item.
Ostkant Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 I unlocked 85% of all containers using just 1 point for Security. I used Security Tunnelers and for some reason I had a +4 bonus to my Security but I never knew why. There was no item that I had equipped, I checked.

Brave Sir Robin Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Yeah, but I figured lockpickers are really good with their hands, so it could have been dexterity.
Dark Jedi Master Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Yeah, 1 security skill can open almost anything. All Jedi Guardians should have 1 security skill (2 points unless cross skill feat) so that you can open any container on Peragus and Telos. After that just use Atton to open locks.
Obireel Y Doncha Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 I've busted a bunch of stuff bashing open containers. It took me a while to realize what was happening. Playing as a Sentinel I let my security skill get up around 10 or 12. That might've been overkill once you have Atton and a few other NPCs to pick locks, but there might be some upgrade items you can only make with higher security skill.
