Having recently interacted with goat head weeds, I think they would have many cool uses in the game. They could be used to create upgraded spike strips, mace/club, thorny shield and armor. Plus, they could have the ability to hurt buggies if you run into them in the wild.

They could also be sticky.

If they add it to make a weapon the weapon should be poisonous as goat heads have a type of poison that makes the spot incredibly itchy if you step on it. I have stepped on a goat head before the spot was so itchy I made it bleed from all the itching.

It could also be like throwable cow-traps.
