DubiousNixie Posted Wednesday at 08:36 AM Posted Wednesday at 08:36 AM (edited) Basically I've been pondering trying to do a run of the games with a class other than Cipher (or admittedly Paladin the only other class I've finished a full run of the games with but cipher is my eternal crutch class) since Avowed makes me want to redo a run of Pillars before getting fully into the new game and I noticed that Seeker's Fang had a wizard track. I know Seeker's Fang is famously busted on cipher but is the wizard upgrade (a brief immunity to flanking for every dex affliction you cause which I guess would work with Gaze of the Adragan since that's an AOE) good enough to replace Squid's Grasp as a rapier for a tactician multi? Have any of the buildomancers on the boards tried it over the years? Edited Wednesday at 08:37 AM by DubiousNixie

With the icy beam Ninagauth's Bitter Mooring it is also very good. This is Squid's Grasp that have an immunity to flanking, not Seeker's Fang, and as a wizard, escape to the enemies by a simple move is good -and enemies are very slow while hobbled. This echantment seem designed to be a melee wizard (or at less at middle range), to use weapons or melee spells (beams, jolting touch, draining touch etc).
Chaospread Posted yesterday at 10:46 AM Posted yesterday at 10:46 AM I understand that you want use Spider's Escape enchantment of Seeker's Fang for a battlemage instead of squid's grasp to achieve immunity from engagment, maybe because you wanna assign squid's grasp to another member. It should work, as @Constentin Lévine said. If I misunderstood, I beg pardon
DubiousNixie Posted yesterday at 03:31 PM Author Posted yesterday at 03:31 PM Yeah that was the idea; honestly I'm rethinking it and I'm not wholly certain it matters that much. My main concern was whether the 3 secs immunity to engagement for every dex affliction (i.e. Spider's Escape) really compared to Squid's Grasp's immunity to flanking for a tactician multi

I'm going to take a look if the bous effect is always here after switching off the weapon, maybe that can give some perspective to your idea. Edit : Then, as intended, you can use the Seeker's Fang to proc the engagment immunity, and prolonge the effect with Wall of Draining, an change the weapon to another set and you keep the bonus effect. After combat end, the effect is still active and you can prolonge them with Strand of Favor trick forever. Edited yesterday at 08:07 PM by Constentin Lévine
