Playing PoE1 for the first time in 4 years (potd upscaled) and keep getting killed by simoc. I don't remember he being this tough. He is a barbarian and so is my MC, but I can only use HoF once and it has no duration but Simoc's is happening every 5 seconds or so throughout the entire fight and has some duration that I can see counting down on him.

Did he always have this permanent HoF? It's wiping out my entire party in seconds (level 13/14).
