So far, I have killed 2 widows and gotten a total of 1 super spider venom. The widow dagger requires four. As far as I can tell, there aren't even four widows in the whole yard. And this isn't a "just for bragging rights" weapon, either - it's a required progression item for a lot of the end game gear.

Is there a reason it's such a grind? Could the venom requirement be reduced a bit? Widows are annoying to fight in the first place.

There are exactly 4 of them (but one is something like a miniboss without respawn). What annoys me more with this dagger is the lack of any information in the game that it is needed to farming Pond Moss.

We got 4 super spider venom from 3 Black Widows but had to kill 10 in total, so that’s 7 Black Widows with no super spider venom drops at all.
 

Instead of lowering the crafting cost of the items that require the super spider venom, my suggestion would be to lower the drop amount to 1-2 instead of 0-4 and increase the drop probability to 50%.

That’s funny, because when I did my research I seen that there are exactly 4 widows. Plus they have a chance to drop from 0 to 4 super venoms. I don’t know; maybe you are playing on grounded lite where you only get 2 black widows. But in all seriousness, at least look it up before you post.

I've stopped progressing, entirely, and have just been trying to grind out the super spider venom.  It's honestly ridiculous.  I have killed somewhere in the vicinity of 10 widows now and I've been stuck on three venom since the first kill.  That's dumb, in my opinion.  The drop rate is way, way too low, IMO.  To hit this hurdle is a real game killer...

I 100% agree with buffing drop rate while nerfing drop amounts. As it stands, players can get time gated by an essential item for game progression.
