Adria Teksuni Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 If you receive an email with a foto.zip attachment, do not open it. You can read all about it here. Never assume malice when stupidity is to blame.
'JN Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 I don't think I've ever opened an attachment that wasn't a .txt or an image file. It's just too dangerous. I would like to meet the people that waste their time planning and making this garbage in a dark alley some time with a baseball bat. It'd have to be a metal one though...
EnderAndrew Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 I agree. Just don't open attachments unless a close personal friend told you they were sending you something specifically. Install a firewall, utilize a good hosts file, use a good browser, check for spyware with both Adaware and Spybot, keep Norton in the background, and routinely do a HouseCall scan as well. I consider those standard prudent procedures that everyone with an internet connection needs to follow. You don't even want to see my list for servers. Then again, I work in IT for a casino.
