dukeofdogs Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 We usually run when we can't face a threat head on. But what if we could wear special clothes that allow us to stay still and have the scary spider smell or walk all around trying to find us while we try not to move, not even the head? It would add the component of a stealth mechanic, trying to "pass through" a bunch of spiders or diving into an ant hill in secret, with the risk that the enemy bumps into you and finds you anyways.
lstitchesl Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 I've always thought a stealth mechanic would be fitting for Grounded. I'd personally prefer that stealth be a viable option without a unique armour to allow it, however a stealthy armour would be gleefully welcome. A vision meter/detection meter, and "sneak attack" damage for knives perhaps? They could complete the lawn mite or aphid set perhaps, as each only has one item associated with it right now.
dukeofdogs Posted August 9, 2021 Author Posted August 9, 2021 Yes I also thought that armor might not be needed for stealth, but since everything is about crafting and upgrading in this game perhaps a sacrifice you have to make to be stealthy is to have less protection, and that way there is some risk related to that choice. Unrelated to what you said but when you said vision meter you gave me another idea that I am not sure it's in the game already: night vision goggles. But I will add it on a separate suggestion
ScritchOwl Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Grounded would probably be 5 updates away from stealth. Currently enemies are so buggy that some enemies are oblivious to you being there until you smash their head in with a club (spiders and stinkbugs), the enemies activate the threat but run from you (ladybugs and bombardier) or aggro on to you but generate no threat(mosquitoes, mites, spiders and flying sky koi) They current state if they tried implementing with these bugs your stealth game would suffer on par with horses and chickens seeing your crimes in Skyrim. As some enemies share senses like the ants bees and orb weavers all instantly attack if your made an enemy by one in the group though the bees are hit n miss now If you see light at the end of the tunnel get out of the road!
dukeofdogs Posted August 9, 2021 Author Posted August 9, 2021 Really? I haven't experienced any of those bugs, you are playing on xbox? I am on PC and so far it has run perfectly
ScritchOwl Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Yeah. The Xbox is seeming to have issues not for the PC. If you see light at the end of the tunnel get out of the road!
