I think it would be awesome to have a hardcore mode in which if you died you lose everything. I think this would give a true survival feel and give many people a sense of accomplishment plus would add a lot more replay value to the game in its current state. The difficulty for this mode should be Whoa!

Some games are so perfectly balanced, a perma-death hard core mode is awesome. Subnautica is the best example of this. Subnautica focuses on survival rather than combat, and conflict avoidance is a sound strategy. Grounded is built different. It is combat-focused, and it is nowhere CLOSE to being balanced enough to make this a feasible option. Too many powerful insects to ever make this a realistic possibility.
