I think this would be a quality of life change instead of having to swap around to determine what order you should do things in. Cuts down unnecessary menu micromanagement.

Do you mean have them shown on the map without having to be selected in the journal?  So for each map have all the quests icon shown then have a separate type of icon or a different color for the selected quest?

Yeah, I'm pretty stunned at this oversight.
