Im in my 3rd playthrough as monk in potd turn-based and ive noticed that fist dmg(or any two-weapon) is ridiculously low even with maxed might.

Not only fists cant benefit from speed anymore, but also total dmg roll receives -35% dmg penalty. Apperantly this also applies primary attack and full attack abilites, making monk class even weaker overall.

Its very annoying to see 10-15 hits when my stats show 25-33 per hand

while companions with two-handed arquebus or great sword do 40 hit with 16-27 stats and lower might

AND i attack only once per turn, same as two-handed..

To be fair, this post could be entitled:

Monk is finally balanced

or

Two weapon is no longer the clear choice

it sounds like the OP is saying that even primary attacks also get the -35% damage penalty, which is clearly a bug. it should only apply to dual-wielded full attacks.

Should it? :p

actually i don't know  :) Turn-based kind of messes up my ideas of deadfire balance.

Primary attacks come out faster if you use two weapons in RTwP, making dual wield good for monks or soul blades. Losing that is a harsh enough penalty. They don’t need a damage penalty on top of it. It is pretty weird and inconsistent that bread and butter monk attacks like torment’s reach, skyward kick and force of anguish do better with two handers than monk fists, but I’m mostly okay with that given how overpowered monks are in RTwP.

One thing that does really annoy me about dual wield in turn based is that free full attacks make even the rare few uses of single weapon style mostly irrelevant. In RTwP, you might choose a single weapon, or melee/ranged if you have something with really good on-hit or on-crit effects like scordeo’s edge or seeker’s fang. Now you will always hit with both weapons regardless, so single weapon style is even more pointless.

Thank you for the feedback everyone!

I put in a request for the team to take a look at dual-wielding balance.  Please continue to discuss this here if you think of anything else as I linked this thread to the report for the team to use as a reference.

Thanks again!
