My crews don't fight and remain idle on their turn.

I don't know if this has being pointed out before, in that case sorry for the repost.

Even better - during my previous boarding I didnt even seem my crew! (idle sidekicks and companions: yes).

I'm sorry you folks are having trouble with the ship combat in Turn-Based Mode.  Would you be able to send me a save where this is occurring that the team can use for testing?  If needed, you can find instructions on where the saves are located here.  If you could send me the save at support@obsidian.net along with a link to this thread as a reference, I would be super appreciative.
