If I summon minor blight first then summon Citzal's Lance, and if the enemy I'm targeting with the lance is within the range of the lance, the lance would attack normally; however, if the target I'm targeting is not within range of the lance, the lance would be replaced by the Minor Blight and there is no way to get it back.

Just now I had a similar issue of the Llengrath's Warding Staff being replaced by Citzal's Spirit Lance - I had the Lance on my hands when I summoned the Staff. The knock down effect occurred but my weapon remained the Lance.

 

Guess it may not have anything to do with the range of the weapons.
