DeathHouseInc Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 (edited) I have two characters of the same class and like to cast some of the same dot's a lot of times so wondering how it works? Also can DOT's crit? If so is it just the base damage or does the OT damage also count for the crit? EDIT: For others looking for information on DOT's I randomly stumbled across this thread last night. It is extremely insightful: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/91903-question-about-dots-and-hots/?p=1893595 Edited September 14, 2018 by DeathHouseInc
Boeroer Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Usually they stack from different charactes. When normal DoTs crit they get prolonged duration (+50%). Combined with high INT this leads to a lot more damage per appliance. However, stuff like Merciless Hand (+30% damage on crit) doesn't affect such DoTs. There are some special DoTs (wounding on weapons, Wounding Shot and so on). Those rely on weapon damage (which gets a bonus on crit already) and don't get prolonged. DeathHouseInc Posted September 14, 2018 Author Posted September 14, 2018 Thanks a lot. I have learned a lot from your posts in the past few days. Odd the talent doesn't work. I know the increase % elemental ones don't increase it either. Makes me wonder what others don't work as well...

Ever tested Bloody Slaughter talent with dot's?
