May 20, 200421 yr Everywhere i read about KotOR, there's always some praise about how a commercial success it was, but i have yet to see any numbers on the amounts of copies sold to this date. Anyone who knows this, care to post a link? May 20, 200421 yr Let's see... Here's Awards... http://www.bioware.com/games/knights_old_republic/awards/ The only sales information I can find is from last year, though. http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/4677/Star-Wa...ks-Record-Sales Never assume malice when stupidity is to blame.
May 20, 200421 yr Author 270 000 copies sold on the xbox within two weeks? Sounds like great numbers IMHO, but still far off compared to Diablo or the Sims. May 20, 200421 yr PC games generally sell more than X-Box, I think I remember reading somewhere, due to the fact that more than one type of PC can play that platform, whereas there's only one X-Box. Ah well. It's been rated as the 4th best selling console game ever released. Never assume malice when stupidity is to blame.
May 21, 200421 yr It's been rated as the 4th best selling console game ever released. I find it hard to believe it beat out the likes of Ocarina of time, Mario 3, Halo, GTA3, MGS2, GTA:VC, etc
May 21, 200421 yr As I recall, Halo was the 2nd... *digs into Google to refresh memory* Never assume malice when stupidity is to blame.

May 21, 200421 yr Hmmmm....Found it. Oops. Sorry. Due to the game rankings a couple of weeks after it's release, KoTOR was then rated 4th by game REVIEWS, not sales. It also said that these go up and down like mad, so it's not 4th anymore. My mistake, so sorry!!!! LOL, and now I see the Game Rankings post! 23 isn't bad! May 21, 200421 yr Author Here's the link to the gamerankings webpage, and there it states that KotOR is ranked 23rd in terms of review-score ratio (94.2%), not in sales. May 21, 200421 yr 270 000 copies sold on the xbox within two weeks? Sounds like great numbers IMHO, but still far off compared to Diablo or the Sims. Try 1.2 million copies that FF X-2 sold in TWO days in Japan.

Try 1.2 million copies that FF X-2 sold in TWO days in Japan. As i said, pretty impressive, but not astounding. May 21, 200421 yr 1.2 millions is a lot, no game have such results in two days. Xbox sold very few in Japan, if I remenber it sold about 100,000 units and since PS2 market is about 70% of the console market I serious doubt the Xbox (that have 15-20% of the market) titles can sell enough to reach any "top 10" numbers compared with PS2 sales.
