All I did here was enter combat, make Aloth cast Citzal's Martial Power, then access his inventory. The spell is active (and its VFX displays no problem in-game), but in the inventory Aloth looks normal.
Not a big deal, but that VFX looks pretty sweet and I figured it's a pity not to see it up close in your inventory.

Similar to what happens with Citzal's Enchanted Armory:
