are poison and corrode damage the same?

Or are they separate? For example looking at passives the buff one or the other or items such as the ability spirit of decay or the helmet "mask of the grotto deep"? Because it says explicitly poison but there hare hardly any strictly named poison abilities? Only corrode / decay....
